Limitations and Alternatives
Despite our best efforts, there may be some limitations. Below are the known issues and our efforts to address them. If you encounter an issue not listed or need assistance, please contact us.
Known Limitations for 1928.com:
Affirm:
- Issue: Affirm was selected as the most accessible payment option available. However, the service does not allow modification of their code to address specific accessibility issues. These limitations include incorrectly labeled controls, content missing required semantic roles, and a carousel without correct roles and attributes.
- Current Action: We continue to monitor any updates from Affirm and explore possible workarounds to improve the user experience.
YouTube:
- Issue: Focus is not always visible, some controls are incorrectly labeled, and certain player functions are unavailable on smaller viewports.
- Current Action: These issues have been reported to YouTube. We are monitoring for updates and exploring interim solutions to minimize their impact.
Checkout (Shopify):
- Issue: Images have incorrect or missing text alternatives, or are not marked for assistive technology to ignore them. Controls provide incorrect state information, sale prices are indicated visually only, focus is not visible in dialogs, some dynamic changes are not announced, and some content lacks semantic information.
- Current Action: Shopify only allows limited visual adjustments within the checkout process. All other changes, including structural and semantic modifications, are prohibited. We continue to work within these limitations and explore ways to mitigate their impact on accessibility.
